Stop Planned Killing of Rare Bison in Poland

It is feared that the Polish authorities may allow the planned killing of a herd of rare European bison in Poland. These 25 bison have been infected with tuberculosis which the authorities fear will spread among other bison herds.

However, quarantine and treatment of a tuberculosis-infected herd in Canada has proved that killing these animals is not necessary and the authorities need to exhaust treatment options before resorting to the kill plan.

Care2 is hosting an online petition asking the Polish Government not to kill the bison before attempting saving them via treatment and separating them from other herds. Please sign the petition online to support this cause.

Thank you!

Abused Pit Bull Needs Help

This case of a female pit bull along with a male is yet another reminder of how terribly cruel some people can be to animals. Her face expression shows the suffering she has been through. Her life meant nothing to her abusers, but now she has a second chance.

Kept at the Jackson Rabies Control in Jackson, TN, this victimized girl along with a male pit bull has been rescued at the last minute by Open Heart Rescue. They will soon be on their way to the rescue to start a new life.

However, the damage they have been done will take time and money. With wounds, scars, dried blood and teeth that have been intentionally broken off or broken for fighting, these canines will likely require extensive vetting and rehab.

To help them heal and return to a life they deserve, please donate to Open Heart Rescue via paypal at vickengineering@aol.com.
